09-z06-revealb1-commo2crop-2-1

Here at Red River Chevrolet, we know Corvettes.  We are the areas largest Corvette dealer.  The all-new C7 Corvette Stingray has been a big hit with our customers and we continue to sell them.  In fact, the first month we had them shipped to us, we sold 17 of them.  As the Corvette Stingray reach Shreveport and Bossier City, our customer quickly poured in to the dealership to get a glimpse of one.  As of the date this article was written, December 25th 2013, we have a Corvette Stingray Convertible in transit.

Although we have these great Corvettes already, the Z06 has and continues to be the “talk of the town”.  Chevrolet announced that the new C7 Z06 will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month.  Chevrolet is calling it the most-capable Corvette ever.  As of now all we have on the Z06 is the teaser image you see above.  As your Corvette Stingray headquarters, we will keep you informed all the way until the Corvette Stingray Z06 hits our showroom!

Stay Tuned!

2014 Corvette Stingray

The 2014 Corvette has finally been revealed – love it or hate it the car has undergone quite a change!  This C7 Corvette is built to go faster and use less fuel, be more comfortable and more dangerous on the track, run with the exotics and spend thousands less.  What is even more interesting is the famed “Stingray” name has been brought back to the Corvette!   The Stingray name has not seen a Corvette since 1976.

The new Corvette C7 has some pretty dramatic changes to it.  The car features many more pronounced creases, a much more aggressive front fascia along with numerous functioning vents all over the car.  The headlamps are also much more detailed than ever before, featuring HID lights along with a LED lights running down the side of the headlamps.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray will also feature the new generation 6.2L small block V8 with the direct fuel injection and active fuel management technology.  This motor will crank out 450hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.  This is expected to move the new Corvette from 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds while still providing up to 30 mpg on the highway when cruising.

The interior of the new Corvette was not forgotten either.  It has been completely redesigned with premium materials, including carbon fiber, leather, and aluminum.  The seats are heated and cooled with side bolsters to hold the driver and passenger firmly in!  The car features two 8-inch video displays.  One of them behind the steering when in the gauge cluster, and then another on the center stack.

One question that a bunch of people will be asking is – how much?  We do not actually have that information yet.  Chevrolet is being hush about that, but they are saying that if you can afford the current model C6 Corvette, then you can afford a new C7.

Here at Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, LA we have already taken a couple requests from customers to be added to our list for this new Corvette.  Come up to Red River if you are interested in this car and we can get you added.  Generally we will need a $500.00 deposit.  Don’t forget that Red River Chevrolet is your Corvette dealer in Shreveport and Bossier City!  We have a huge selection of C6 2013 Corvettes!

Spring Time is here! Get that Chevy Waxed!

Well it looks like we are putting another winter behind us!  You know what that means!  Put the top down on that new Convertible Camaro or Vette and take it for a spin around town!  If you are like me, then you will probably want to clean up your ride and make it shine so you will look good cruising down the road!  This brings me to the topic of waxing your vehicle, and how to wax your car.

First of all, let me answer the questions about whether your new car even needs a wax, or if you should just wash it.

The improvements over the years with clear coat and paint technology are incredible, and they seem to maintain a shine quite well, however, the paint can still oxidize and will eventually.  Today, the multilayered finish on your vehicle is only .004 to .006 of an inch thick, and even though the technology has improved significantly, there are still things out there such as radiant and ultraviolet energy, radiation, acid rain, salt, insects, bird droppings and atmospheric pollution that will ultimately dull out the finish on your vehicle!  This is one reason that wax is important.  It provides another layer of protection for your paint.

Want some other reasons to wax your car?

  1. Shine
  2. Protection
  3. Easier to keep clean
  4. Help prevent paint chips from rocks.
  5. Fills in Scratches
  6. Much, much more!

If you haven’t waxed your car in a while, you should get out there and put a shine to it!  Not only will your Chevrolet look great, but it will also be better protected!  Just remember to put the wax on properly!

  1. Follow ALL instructions on the wax.
  2. Apply wax in straight lines
  3. Wax in the Shade!
  4. Use applicator pad and buffer.
