2014 Camaro Z/28 Starts at $75,000

2014 and 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Chevrolet has announced that the 2014 Camaro Z/28 will begin arriving at your Local Chevrolet Dealership this spring with a starting MSRP of $75,000.  That price includes the $995 destination charge, but does not include tax, title, license and dealer fees.

The Camaro Z/28 is a track car that is legal on the road – plain and simple.  With a 7.0L LS7 engine providing 505 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque, the Chevy Camaro Z/28 provides enough power, acceleration, and aerodynamics to produce faster lap times on Germany’s Nurburgring road course than the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

The Z/28 is available in 5 colors – Red Hot, Black, Silver Ice Metallic, Ashen Gray Metallic, and Summit White.  If there is one thing you should know about the Z/28, it is the fact that the Camaro Z/28 is a track car.  There is only one option on the car.  An $1,150 package that adds air conditioning and a total of six audio speakers.  The standard Z/28 comes with one speaker for the door chime (making it street legal).

The 2014 Camaro Z/28 is has only one transmission available.  A close-ratio, six-speed manual transmission which distributes power to the rear wheels through a Torsen limited-slip differential featuring a helical gear set, rather than traditional clutch packs.  Also on the Z/28 are 19-inch forged aluminum wheels and Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires.  These tires represent the first production-car application in the industry and are believed to be the wides front tire on any production car.

Ready for a Hot Wheels® Camaro?

This year at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV Chevrolet revealed its Hot Wheels® Edition 2013 Camaro which will be available to order November 1st and should be arriving at your local Shreveport, LA and Bossier City Chevy Dealership next year.  This will mark the first time that any manufacturer has offered a full-size production Hot Wheels® car.

Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing, says that “Millions of us grew up playing with Hot Wheels and offering a special production model of the Camaro Hot Wheels is an opportunity to bring those memories to life, for kids of all ages.”

These cars will be produced in the first quarter of 2013 during a special production run, and just like the normal Hot Wheels® toys, when these cars are gone, they will be gone!

The car itself features a vibrant paint and graphics-accented metallic paint scheme and even includes the red-lined wheels that give it that Hot Wheels look.  This edition will be available in Coupe and Convertible models in the 2LT and 2SS trim levels.  Some of the exterior highlights included with this package include:

  • ZL1 Rear Spoiler
  • ZL1 Front Upper Grille
  • Ground effects package, including front splitter and rocker treatment.
  • Black 21-inch wheels with red outline stripe.
  • Fender “flame” graphics
  • Hot Wheels grille and decklid logos.

The interior of the car will come with black leather which is accented with red and black seat stitching with the Hot Wheels logo embroidered on the front seats.  The dash cluster has black inserts with the Hot Wheels-style flame decal on each door along with Hot Wheels sill plates, and floor mats, also help distinguish this Camaro.  The Chevrolet MyLink system is also standard with the Hot Wheels Edition Camaro.

Check out the video above for all the features and to take a look at the car.

Chevrolet Camaro 1LE Trim for 2013 Model

General Motors has release an office press release about a new performance track package that will be available for the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.  It will boast numerous tweaks.  Some of them include an aggressive-looking front and rear spoiler which will both be painted in smoke gray.  Red Brembo brakes and 20-inch wheels and Goodyear Eagle Supercar tires will be part of the package as well!

There are many features that will separate this car from the other Camaros as well.  From an optional dual-mode exhaust (similar to what is found on the Corvette) to a higher 3.91 final drive and liquid cooling system which is also standard, the Camaro 1LE will be a track vehicle to keep pace with the Boss 302.

2012 is Here!

Well, as we all have heard over and over again, December 21st, 2012 marks the end of the Mayan calendar (the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar).  It represents the Winter Solstice and the crossing of the Galactic Equator. It is the end of what the Mayans call "The Great Cycle" which is of 1,872,000 days in length. The actual time according to their dating system is the year 13:0:0:0:0.

There are many, many different theories on how the earth will end in 2012, and intereestingly enough, it is not just the Mayans that felt the earth would end in the year of 2012.  Whether or not it actually will, we will just have to wait and see!

Regardless, this year might just be a good year to come in and get yourself that new Corvette or Camaro!  🙂

Hennessey Celebrating with HPE650 Supercharged Camaro

It seems that HPE is turing 20 in the month of October, and what better way for them to celebrate then to slap a whole bunch of goodness under the hood of a Chevrolet Camaro.  In fact, what they are slapping is a WHOLE LOT of good!  How about a supercharger, new heads, a new cam, headers, as well as exhaust and intake upgrades!  All of that results in what you see in the title as "650".  No, that is not just a number, but how much horsepower this is projected to have!  Well, actually it is expected to have 655 hp at 6,300 rpm.  That is enough to get that Camaro up to 60 in 3.7 seconds!
There are other upgrades for this car aside from the hp increases.  The HPE Camaro will also have cusom wheels, front splitter and side skirts, embroidered headrests, and a new suspension system.
So how much?  Well it looks like it will be at $79,500 and $84,500 for the convertible.  Oh, and did I mention that there will only be 20 of these made!?
Check out the press release below.
