Plans for a New Generation Colorado?!

As productions begins to slow and eventually cease at the Shreveport, LA GM Assembly Plant, the Colorado was said to cease with it.  However, according to pickuptrucks.com, both the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon are in for an over-haul.

Obviously GM is not giving any detail about changes or anything like that, but GM is likely to base the next-gen pickup on the GMI 700 body-on-frame global small truck platform. Those bones are set to get an unveil at this year’s Thailand International Motor Show in Bangkok.

So when should we expect to see this new Colorado? The first half of 2014 is more likely. Production is likely to move north, to Wentzville, Mo., where GM currently builds its full-size Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans.  Time will tell…
