Chevrolet Silverado Motor Trend Truck of the Year!
Something all the trucks strive to get each year has been given to the 2011 Silverado. The Truck of the Year award from Motor Trend is a big one! The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado is a great truck in my opinion, and it must be great in a “few” other people’s mind as well. Motor Trend gave the award to the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD right before the 111th Army-Navy Game at Philadelphia‘s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday.
It has been a big year for Chevrolet. First, they won two Car of the year awards, one from Motor Trend and then another from Automobile Magazine. Now they are clenching the title for Truck of the Year!
The powerful Duramax Turbo Diesel, excellent six-speed transmissions, reworked suspension and fully boxed frame were enough to put the Silverado HD ahead of its class! The Silverado HD has a towing power of 21,700 pounds! That means it has the ability to two three other Silverado HDs, or 10 Lotus Evoras. Payload capacities in this category mean that this truck could actually haul itself in its bed it the truck was crushed up small enough to fit in the bed. These Silverados are the big boys that haul massive boats, horsetrailers, and huge construction equipment.
